During a conference held in the night of Thursday to Friday, April 12, Disney has finally lifted the veil on its own online streaming service. Disney Plus has spread to the eyes of the public and the competition a comprehensive platform that will reduce the general public.
Disney Plus will have in its catalog of Star Wars and the Marvel taken back to Netflix
From the outset, the firm with big ears announced the details of its subscription offer. As a result, Disney Plus will be officially launched in the United States from November 12, 2019, while the most important regions of the globe will be entitled to coverage from 2021. No doubt therefore that the Hexagon is concerned by this decision.
In terms of fare, the online streaming service offers a starting subscription of $ 6.99 per month, while Netflix points to $ 8.99 per month. For the moment, Disney has not yet communicated on the conditions of subscriptions including the number of simultaneous screens.
It is in terms of the catalog that the Disney Plus service seeks to stand out from Netflix. From the outset, the firm has taken over rights to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and will now offer the films but probably also series of superheroes.
Other studios like Pixar, National Geographic or the Fox will have a range of content to offer you but that’s not all. Indeed, the Stars Wars universe will also have its own content with exclusive series. In short, Netflix may tremble, Disney Plus seems to be a competitor at the height.
