OnePlus 8 Pro review: really close to the podium of the very high-end

Futura was able to test the OnePlus 8 Pro daily for several weeks. The move upmarket is certain and the high-end model of the brand is a little closer to what is offered, for several hundred euros more, the most prestigious smartphones.

During the presentation of the 2020 vintage of its range, OnePlus sent Futura a copy of the OnePlus 8 Pro . We were able to use it daily for several weeks. With its extension “pro”, the premium version  of the mobile goes up damn in range compared to previous models. Overall, it is the most balanced brand smartphone that we have had in our hands since its inception.

At first glance, like its predecessor, the OnePlus 7 Pro, it looks like a Galaxy S20 , or even the  Huawei P40 Pro  with its 6.78 inch 120 Hz 120 Hz Amoled screen and curved edges. The OnePlus 8 Pro gets rid of its clever, but complex retractable selfie module in favor of a discreet 16 megapixel punch on the upper left of the screen. With this mechanical system less, the weight is felt and the mobile weighs much less heavy in hand and in the pocket.

After a few hours of use, we already know that the mobile can rub stride the stars of the market  premium that are Samsung with its Galaxy S line, Apple and its iPhone Pro 11 , the pixels of Google , or the Huawei P40 Pro who would rise to the top if he were not deprived of Google services. While the previous iterations were not free from criticism, the OnePlus 8 Pro is really very close to flawless, while still having a contained price.
