RadMission, the affordable US electric bike that wants to shake up the market

The American brand Rad Power Bikes is launching in Europe a new urban electric bike whose fairly tight price could make it one of the market references.

In the United States, Rad Power Bikes has built a fairly flattering reputation with its accessible electric assistance bikes that occupy the main market segments: city, all-terrain, utility , foldable. The brand, which is also present on the European market, has just launched a brand new urban VAE at 1,099 euros which promises a pretty interesting price / quality ratio.

The RadMission, that’s its name, is available in two frame sizes ( aluminum ) with high or low spans. Its 250W electric motor housed in the rear hub develops 50 Nm of torque to reach 25 km / h of regulatory assistance. On the battery side, this is also classic, with 504 Wh 48 V for a range of between 45 and 72 km depending on the mode used.

Delivery in October

For the rest, the equipment and the design go to the essentials and without frills: Tektro mechanical disc brakes, front and rear lighting, LED control panel without screen, single speed . The kickstand, as well as the luggage racks and mudguards are optional. We welcome the presence of a walking assistance function which allows the electric motor to run up to 6 km / h to help when it is necessary to push the bicycle .

The 27.5 inch tires (with reflective stripes) seem able to easily take on some paths and tracks that are not too rough. On the scale, the RadMission weighs 22 kg , which is about average for this kind of electric bike. Pre-orders are already open on the Rad Power Bikes European site , but you will have to wait until October to be delivered.
