TAG Heuer has just renewed its range of connected watches which is displayed from 1,700 euros. The luxury watch manufacturer is targeting a high-end market.
TAG Heuer has just launched a new luxury connected watch using Wear OS , a version of Android . The Connected series replaces the Connected Modular range of 2018. As its name suggests, one of its strong points was modularity, with the possibility of opting for a mechanical system. This option is no longer offered, which slightly reduced the thickness from 13.75 mm to 13.5 mm.
The 45-millimeter case has a 1.39-inch screen with a definition of 454 x 454 pixels . The watch is powered by a battery of 430 mAh and promises a battery life of 20 hours in normal use, or 6 hours in sport mode. It is water resistant (50m) and has Wi-Fi , Bluetooth 4.0, NFC and GPS . It also includes a heart rate sensor , a gyroscope , a compass and an accelerometer .
A watch four times more expensive than the Apple Watch
The Swiss brand abandoned the Intel Atom processor used on the previous generation, and opted for the Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 3100. This SoC is no longer very young since it was released in 2018 … The TAG Heuer Connected is available in four versions. The first two have a stainless steel case , a black rubber strap and a PVD or black ceramic bezel . Another combines a steel case and bracelet, and the last combines a titanium case with a rubber strap.
If the TAG Heuer Connected do not really stand out from the competition in terms of electronic components, the price confirms that it is indeed a luxury watch. The steel model starts from 1,700 euros, almost four times the price of an Apple Watch . The invoice climbs to 2,250 euros for the premium titanium version.
