Many of you probably do not remember the launch of WhatsApp, it was 10 years ago. The development team decided to refresh our memory with a video showing some very interesting infographics.
WhatsApp has come a long way before reaching its current success. The world’s most famous email service has more than 1.5 billion users a month, but the journey continues and certainly does not stop there.
Exactly 10 years ago, in 2009, WhatsApp was launched on iOS and Android and later, in December of the same year, it received its first major feature: sharing photos and videos. From June 2010, users were able to share their position, and from February 2011 group discussions took place.
And voice messages? This important step is obviously mentioned in the video, as well as the acquisition by Facebook in 2014. The first sensational results were obtained in 2015 and 2016, years in which WhatsApp Web has appeared.
In 2016, new features such as end-to-end encryption and video calling were introduced. Among the most recent are obviously the group calls and the appearance of the stickers, added by WhatsApp last year only.
