Xiaomi presents its Redmi Note 9 Pro and Redmi Note 9 Pro Max

It is in India that Xiaomi has unveiled two new versions of its Redmi Note 9 range. As always with this Chinese manufacturer, the equipment is rich, of quality and the price is very attractive. Clearly, mid-range models at entry-level prices.

It’s unclear if Xiaomi is looking to break the longest name record, but the Redmi Note 9 Pro Max will be well placed at the end of the year. As the name suggests, it is a variation of the Note 9, and it arrives with the Note 9 Pro. Clearly, Xiaomi was inspired by Apple with these names, taking up the attributes of the most powerful  iPhone 11 .

Presented in India, these two models have the same screen, with a 6.67 inch panel in 20: 9 format, capable of displaying images in a Full HD + definition (2400 x 1080 pixels ). Under the screen, a Snapdragon 720 G chip , rather mid-range, and several combinations for RAM and storage. For the Pro, it’s 4 or 6 GB of RAM with 64 or 128 GB of storage. For the Pro Max, it’s 6 or 8 GB of RAM with equivalent storage.

Quick charge and main camera are different

In fact, the differences between the two models are minimal, and they are to be found on the side of the photo. Not at the front, since the discreet punch , which replaces the drop of water, hides a 32 million pixel camera on both models. On the other hand, at the back, the central rectangle incorporates a main camera of 48 million pixels for the Pro version, and 64 million pixels for the Pro Max version. For the rest, the three sensors are similar: a wide angle of 8 million pixels, a macro mode of 5 million pixels and a depth of field sensor of two million pixels.

For the battery, it’s tough with 5.020 mAh for the two smartphones ; on the other hand, the Pro is only entitled to a fast charger of 18W, against 33W for its big brother. As for prices, as always with Xiaomi , it’s very cheap with an entry price of around 160 euros for the Redmi Note 9 Pro and 180 euros for the Pro Max version. For availability, it will be at the end of March in India, and probably a few weeks later in Europe.
